The short version
Give it the Once Over doesn't have a server. Every tool here — Spreadsheet Auditor, Document Auditor, PowerPoint Auditor, PDF Auditor, Robots.txt & Sitemap Validator, Favicon Generator, Palette Checker, and PNG Compressor — reads and processes whatever you paste, drop, or upload entirely inside your own browser tab. Nothing you give a tool is ever transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it disappears the moment you close or refresh the page.
How each tool handles your data
Spreadsheet Auditor reads formulas you type and any workbook file you drop in (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .csv, .ods) using your browser's own file APIs, and evaluates and audits it locally.
Document Auditor reads a .docx file you drop in using your browser's file APIs, unzips it locally with the JSZip library, and inspects five standard parts of the file (word/document.xml, word/styles.xml, word/comments.xml, docProps/core.xml, docProps/app.xml) to run its checks.
PowerPoint Auditor reads a .pptx file you drop in using your browser's file APIs, unzips it locally with the JSZip library, and inspects the presentation, slide, and document-properties XML parts of the file to run its checks.
PDF Auditor reads a PDF file you drop in using your browser's file APIs and runs its plain-English accessibility checks locally — nothing is uploaded.
Robots.txt & Sitemap Validator reads a robots.txt and/or sitemap.xml file you drop in using your browser's file APIs, and parses and checks the plain text or XML locally — nothing is uploaded, and no ZIP library is involved.
Favicon Generator reads an image file you drop in, renders every icon size locally on an in-page canvas, and bundles the results into a downloadable zip with JSZip.
Palette Checker reads an image file you drop in and inspects, samples, and compares its colors locally on an in-page canvas — nothing is uploaded.
PNG Compressor reads a PNG file you drop in and recompresses it locally on an in-page canvas using the UPNG.js and pako libraries — nothing is uploaded.
The homepage itself is a hub — it doesn't read, store, or upload anything; it only links out to the tools above.
In every case, the file or data never leaves your device, there's no upload step, and closing or refreshing the tab discards everything.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personal information. We don't have a sign-up, a database, or a server-side log of what formulas, files, or images people work with. We don't use analytics or tracking scripts, and none of the tools use browser local storage to remember what you've entered between visits.
Third-party resources
Every page on this site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Spreadsheet Auditor loads the SheetJS library, and Document Auditor, PowerPoint Auditor, and Favicon Generator load the JSZip library, from a code library host (cdnjs.cloudflare.com); PNG Compressor loads the UPNG.js and pako libraries from the same host. Robots.txt & Sitemap Validator loads no third-party library at all — it parses everything with your browser's own built-in tools. Like any request to an external server, loading a font exposes your IP address and browser details to Google, the same as loading an image or a script from any other website would — this happens regardless of what you do with a tool, and no file content, formula, or result is ever sent as part of it. Those providers' own privacy policies govern that request data.
Advertising
This site may display advertising on any page, now or in the future, served by a third-party ad network or a direct-sold banner. Where an ad is shown, the ad network may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and interaction with the ad in order to select and measure it, and may set its own cookies or use similar technology to do so — see the Cookie Policy for details. No file, formula, or data you give a tool is ever shared with an ad network. This policy will be updated to name the specific ad network(s) in use once one is connected.

Children's privacy
Because we don't collect data from anyone, we don't knowingly collect data from children either.
Changes to this policy
If how this site or its tools handle data ever changes, this policy will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
